Usage, example, and limits
Usage
- Use automatic detection for the request's public address or enter another public IP.
- Confirm that it is valid and not private, loopback, or reserved.
- Treat network and location output as approximate rather than a person's precise location.
Limits
- IP geolocation is normally approximate and can be wrong even at city level.
- VPNs, proxies, mobile networks, and corporate gateways show an exit point rather than a user's physical location.
- Private and reserved addresses have no public geolocation record.
Example
- Input
8.8.8.8- Output
Network and approximate region data returned by the public IP data provider
Attribution can change as routing, providers, and third-party databases are updated.
Data handling
This tool sends the requested public IP to KitOtter's server, which contacts a third-party IP information service. Do not use the result for tracking, discrimination, or high-risk identity decisions.
