Usage, example, and limits
Usage
- Put the original version on the left and the new version on the right.
- Choose the comparison granularity that best fits the material.
- Review highlighted changes and decide whether whitespace, line endings, or case are meaningful.
Limits
- This is a text comparison and does not understand code semantics or document revision history.
- Very large files can consume browser memory and are better handled by a dedicated diff tool.
- Normalizing whitespace can hide changes that matter to a target system.
